I see humans, but no humanity.
Profane words scrawled on the bathroom walls,
By troubled souls,
With no one to talk to,
Nowhere to go,
And worst of all,
No hope.
I see children, devoid of innocence and a fearless voice amongst the damned,
I see the hollow shells of what once was
A fragile mind filled with wonder and awe at the world of which we live,
But what once was a stable, perfect child,
With a reassuring smile,
Is now a walking, talking tragedy
Drowning in twisted thoughts.
I see a world where we are all divided,
Where standing together is left in the past,
Your weight, your wealth and your social class
Define you more than your gender or your race.
I see a world that’s collapsing,
A society dying on it’s feet,
A world in which I’m drowning,
And no one can hear me scream.

Nowhere to go,
